Le Louvre

Le Louvre—incredible but totally overwhelming. Being trapped in Cour Puget and Cour Marly was what a panic attack must feels like. I was never so happy to leave a building.

The favorite part of the museum was the French paintings on the second floor of the Sully wing. Ones I loved:

  • Madame Charles-Louis Trudaine, Jacques-Louis David
  • Jeune fille en buste, Baron Pierre-Narcisse Guerin
  • Le triomphe du Tsar Alexandre 1er ou La Paix, Louis-Leopold Boilly
  • Eberhard, Conte de Wurtemberg, dit Le Larmoyeur, Ary Scheffer
  • Effef de crépuscule; Environs de Troyes; La chaussée du Vouldi, Charles Cuisin
  • Glaéçons sur la Seine à Bougival, Calude-Oscar Monet
